Congressman Van Drew Requests Drive Thru Testing for COVID-19 in South Jersey

Contact: Scott Weldon (202)225-6572

Today, Congressman Van Drew requested a drive-thru testing site for COVID-19 in South Jersey from FEMA and Governor Phil Murphy. Currently there are no testing sites in South Jersey. Congressman Van Drew has requested that this location be able to be utilized by residents of South Jersey only and he has advocated for the location to be somewhere in western Atlantic County, to be as accessible to as much of the region as possible.

Congressman Van Drew has been discussing options with Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson, who has been on the forefront of the issue, and federal, local, and state government officials and will continue to push with them for a testing site in South Jersey.

“To stay ahead of the negative curve of this illness, we must offer the same testing and health resources to all of our citizens, and I am asking FEMA and Governor Murphy to install a testing site in South Jersey,” said Congressman Van Drew. “We are in this fight together, and I know we will win, but we all must have the tools at our disposal so that we are able to beat this hidden threat.”
