Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Van Drew celebrated the impact of several grant programs he secured for Atlantic City that work to strengthen our community and enhance public safety.

"I am proud to be doing everything I can to lift up the people of Atlantic City and South Jersey," said Congressman Van Drew. "These grant programs are making a real difference because they build on each other in meaningful ways.

"First, we have the EnVision Center which provides incredible opportunities through pre-apprenticeship training in cybersecurity and low-voltage electric installations, skills that are in high demand. The first class includes 30 students, and many of them will be graduating this February, ready to take the next steps in their professional lives.

"From there, the Jewish Family Service's 'Boosting to Work' program helps individuals turn the skills they have learned into success. The program does everything from helping with resumes to preparing for interviews and even creating important connections for the job market. It is designed to set people up for success and to help them secure good jobs.

"Finally, there is the grant we secured for the Atlantic City Police Department, which has gone toward funding critical safety improvements across the city. This includes installing new street lighting and camera equipment to make the city safer for everyone. Some of the students who graduate from the EnVision Center will have the opportunity to take the skills they have learned and directly apply them by installing these new public safety systems.

"These programs are all connected, and together, they are helping build a stronger Atlantic City. I am incredibly proud to have secured these grants and to see how they are making a real impact for the people of South Jersey."
