Contact: Scott Weldon (202)225-6572

MAYS LANDING- Today, Congressman Jeff Van Drew joined a lawsuit to force Governor Murphy to reopen the South Jersey economy. As a small business owner in South Jersey for decades, Congressman Van Drew is joining his fellow business owners to stop the onerous restrictions set by Governor Murphy. South Jersey and seasonal businesses depend on the summer months to survive for the year, and many are still in the dark on when and how they can reopen. Congressman Van Drew has presented numerous proposals from business owners to Governor Murphy and his staff on safe and practical ways they can reopen, but many in South Jersey are still awaiting answers.

"We are the store on the boardwalk that just wants to open fully with safety precautions in place.

We are the casino employee just trying to return to work to support a family.

We are the restaurant that just wants to let patrons sit inside and enjoy a meal.

We are the business owners who just want Governor Murphy to respect our livelihoods.

We are frustrated and want to safely reopen, “said Congressman Van Drew.
