Congressman Van Drew Demands Answers Ahead of President Biden's Press Conference

Contact: Ashley Brown (202) 225-6572

Today, Congressman Van Drew issued the following statement demanding answers from President Biden ahead of his first solo press conference at the White House in ten months.

"Over the course of the past year, President Biden has demonstrated an unwillingness to work with congressional Republicans which has resulted in skyrocketing inflation, record-breaking crime rates, a crippled supply chain, a labor shortage, illegal migrants flooding in through our southern border, weakened national security, and a failure to 'shut down' the virus," said Congressman Van Drew.

"Now, for the first time in about ten months, President Biden is finally addressing the public and holding a solo press conference," added Congressman Van Drew. "President Biden has held fewer press conferences than his recent predecessors since he has taken office, and because of political pressure, he has finally decided it may be a good time to address the nation. But, this comes only after he has failed the American people. He has failed to be a strong leader, failed to unite the country, and failed to be transparent with the American public. Instead, there is further division, a disconnect between the government and our citizens, and there are virtually no accomplishments to highlight at this press conference.

"President Biden must answer to the American people as to why none of the promises he made have been fulfilled, despite retaining a one-party rule. Americans are paying more at the grocery store, the gas station, the costs to heat their homes have risen, energy prices have gone up, and every American feels the burden of President Biden's failed policies. I demand answers from our President and the American people demand answers."
