Today, Congressman Van Drew announced that the Department of Transportation awarded Atlantic City a $10.3 million (RAISE) grant for a Corridor Revitalization and Safety project. This project implements street improvements for a 2.7 mile stretch of Atlantic Avenue in downtown Atlantic City. This includes improvements to the city's transit, safety, drainage, and accessibility features. Additionally, the project includes improvements on Arctic and Pacific Avenues. "I am proud to announce that Atlantic City will be receiving much needed funding to improve the city's infrastructure," said Congressman Van Drew. "For far too long, South Jersey has been neglected in receiving adequate funding for its dire infrastructure needs. I have advocated for this project since I was elected to Congress and it has been long awaited by Atlantic City. This project will not only bring safety improvements to Atlantic City but will revitalize the city's small businesses that depend on Atlantic, Arctic, and Pacific Avenues." |
