Atlantic City, NJ - Today, Congressman Jeff Van Drew visited Coast Guard Station Atlantic City and presented an award for valor to a Petty Officer who conducted a water rescue. In addition, he also toured and participated in a ride on a Coast Guard Vessel where he spoke about ensuring readiness. Congressman Van Drew sits on the Homeland Security and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees which oversee authorizations for the US Coast Guard where he is currently working on several proposals to aid modernization.

“The brave men and women Coasties who protect our shores and put their lives on the line in defense of us make me proud to be an American,” said Congressman Van Drew. “I am also proud to have such a large Coast Guard presence in our district and will do everything in my power in Congress to ensure they have the tools they need to be successful in their mission.”
