Washington, DC -Today, Congressman Van Drew, Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight, asked that the Department of Justice (DOJ) immediately investigate the bomb threats made against seven polling locations across New Jersey.

"For seven separate polling places to receive bomb threats on Election Day is not a coincidence—it looks organized, intentional, and meant to scare voters," said Congressman Van Drew. "No American should ever fear for their life when they go to vote. Anyone who would threaten violence to interfere with our elections is a coward and a criminal. It is totally un-American and a direct attack on our democracy. I will be sending a letter to the DOJ asking them to immediately open an investigation, and I will be exploring a full hearing before my subcommittee. If this was politically motivated, those responsible must be prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law. Any type of interference with our elections, especially one that involves threats of violence, will not be tolerated."
