Congressman Van Drew Leads Resolution Condemning Antisemitic Violence Across America

Washington, DC -Today, Congressman Van Drew introduced a resolution condemning the disturbing rise in antisemitic attacks across the United States. Since the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7th, 2023, antisemitic incidents have reached all-time highs across the country. The most recent attack took place in Boulder, Colorado, where a man set peaceful protestors, who were supporting hostages still held by Hamas, on fire. This resolution makes it clear that Congress fully condemns this attack as well as antisemitism in all forms.

The resolution is co-led with Rep. Neguse, whose district was the site of the attack, as well as the co-chairs of the Congressional Jewish Caucus, Rep. Schneider and Rep. Nadler. Nearly 50 additional members of Congress from both sides of the aisle have co-sponsored the resolution.

"Antisemitism has absolutely no place in the United States of America," said Congressman Van Drew. "If your idea of a political protest is threatening, harassing, or attacking a Jewish person, then you are not a protestor. You are a coward. There is no gray area in these recent attacks. When Jewish Americans are being assaulted, when terrorists are targeting them simply for who they are, when mobs are calling for violence, we cannot stay quiet. This hate must be called out and condemned in no uncertain terms. I am proud to lead this effort, and I thank my colleagues for standing with me."

Background:

  • On June 1st, 2025, a terrorist who was here illegally intentionally set at least 15 people on fire with Molotov cocktails, yelling "Free Palestine" and telling police he intended to "kill every single one of them."
  • On May 21st, 2025, two Israeli embassy staffers, a young couple soon to be married, were gunned down in cold blood. The shooter declared his motive plainly: "I did it for Palestine."
  • On April 13th, 2025, a terrorist attempted to assassinate Jewish Governor Josh Shapiro and his family by setting the Pennsylvania Governor's Mansion on fire while they slept. Investigators confirmed the motive was linked to his Jewish identity and pro-Israel stance.
