Vineland Soup Kitchen

Project Description: The Vineland Soup Kitchen/ Spirit & Truth Ministries is a 501(c)(3) organization located in the heart of Vineland, Cumberland County, NJ. The Soup Kitchen does not currently have the storage space it needs. There is limited storage in the basement for canned goods and other items and the Soup Kitchen does not have its own freezer space and very limited refrigerator space. This poses a logistical challenge. To remedy these challenges, they are requesting funds to purchase a building solely for Soup Kitchen use; conduct renovations necessary to convert the building into a food service facility; purchase and install a commercial-grade refrigerator and freezer units and; purchase and install vertical gardens to grow some of its own produce.

Project Description: Hereford Inlet to Cape May Inlet, NJ, is a federally authorized shore protection project that covers multiple municipalities on the Wildwoods barrier island of New Jersey. Stakeholders agree there is a need to identify an offshore borrow site to supplement the project. Evaluating options requires a formal Army Corps Study in the form of a General Reevaluation Report (GRR.) The requested federal funds would be used to initiate and execute this study.
