Rep. Van Drew Takes a Stand Against Exelon's Rate Increase

Last week, I continued to hold Exelon's feet to the fire. Exelon has delayed our long-awaited meeting, pushing it back to the first week of December. Frankly, this delay is unacceptable. If Exelon truly cared about addressing the community's concerns, they would have acted by now. But instead, they continue to drag their feet. Rest assured, we are not backing down. We are still pushing forward with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and through Congress to investigate this fully.

Now, as if their record was not bad enough, Exelon is trying to push an 8% rate hike on New Jersey consumers to fund their infrastructure upgrades. Let me be clear—Exelon has already taken more than enough from the people of South Jersey. This rate hike is nothing more than an attempt to line their pockets at our expense, and I will do everything in my power to stop it.

Rep. Van Drew Joins Newsmax to Discuss the Transition to the New Trump Administration

Last week, I joined Joe Pinion on Newsmax to discuss the transition into the Trump Administration. Americans want Republicans to advance conservative policies that reflect the values of everyday citizens and now it is time to get started.

Americans want a secure border to protect our country from illegal immigration and threats. They want a foreign policy that gets America back on track—one that strengthens our position on the world stage and defends our national interests. And they want an economy that supports job creation, lowers taxes, and strengthens the middle class.

The message is unmistakable: Americans are demanding strong leadership and results. Under President Trump, we will focus on delivering safety, prosperity, and strength for our nation. The path forward is clear, and we are committed to putting America back on the right track.

Rep. Van Drew Grills FEMA Administrator Over Emergency Aid Bias

Last week, I questioned Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanna Criswell in a House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee hearing, where alarming details about FEMA's handling of disaster relief came to light.

In Florida, FEMA workers were told to avoid homes displaying Trump campaign signs, leaving 20 houses without help during their time of need. This kind of political bias in disaster relief is completely unacceptable. FEMA's job is to support all Americans in times of crisis, no matter their political beliefs.

This is why I have sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security Inspector General Joseph Cuffari, calling for an immediate investigation into FEMA's actions. The American people deserve a government that prioritizes their safety, not politics.

Rep. Van Drew Calls for Increased U.S. Coast Guard Presence in the Arctic Circle

Last week, I spoke at a Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee hearing to highlight a growing problem: the U.S. is falling behind in the Arctic. The Arctic is becoming a key area for global power and influence, with Russia and China expanding their fleets and vying for control over important resources and shipping routes. If Congress does not act now, we risk losing our footing in a region that is crucial for our future security and prosperity.

That is why we need to invest in the U.S. Coast Guard and equip them with the technology and resources to compete. Securing the Arctic must be a priority across party lines, and I will keep pushing to make sure we have the tools we need to stay ahead.

Rep. Van Drew Slams HHS Secretary for Failed Refugee Resettlement Program

Last week, I questioned Health and Human Services Secretary Becerra at a House Judiciary Committee hearing about the "Unaccompanied Children Program Rule" that has led to an increasing number of missing and exploited children and has even placed some with criminal sponsors. The rule allows sponsors to skip background checks, even if they have criminal records or child welfare violations.

To make matters worse, the rule actively prevents law enforcement from sharing critical information about sponsors under investigation for human trafficking. It also weakens age verification, allowing adults posing as children to slip through and exploit the system. This failed approach directly contributed to the tragic and preventable murder of Kayla Hamilton, who was killed by an unaccompanied alien child (UAC) with ties to the MS-13 gang and who lied about his age.

This rule is a catastrophic failure. It endangers both vulnerable children and American communities. This gross negligence must be corrected—before more innocent lives are lost.

Rep. Van Drew Congratulates Oceanville Fire Department on 100 years of Service

Last week, I was proud to recognize Dr. Eugene Carroccia, a Vietnam War veteran and Quilt of Valor recipient, for his dedicated service to our country. The Quilt of Valor is a special honor, awarded to veterans who have shown extraordinary commitment and sacrifice. Dr. Carroccia's service truly reflects the meaning of this award.

After completing medical school, Dr. Carroccia was called to serve in the U.S. Army as a Battalion surgeon, He was the only doctor responsible for the health of the soldiers in his unit. He also helped provide medical care to local Vietnamese civilians, including children in Saigon orphanages. After his military service, Dr. Carroccia pursued a career in plastic and reconstructive surgery for service members. He spent over 40 years serving patients in South Jersey before retiring in 2020.

Dr. Carroccia's dedication to both his country and his community is a true example of service, and it was my honor to recognize his sacrifices and contributions.
