Maurice River Navigation Dredging

Requested Amount: $4.01 million

Intended Recipient: Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia

This project provides funds to the Army Corps of Engineers to restore the Mouth of the Maurice River channel to its authorized depth. This long-awaited project will bring tremendous economic, operational, and environmental benefits to the Delaware Bayshore the surrounding communities.

Atlantic City Small Business Recovery Program

Requested Amount: $800,000

Intended Recipient: The Office of the Atlantic City Business Administrator

The Atlantic City Small Business Assistance initiative will be used for Entrepreneurship training, concierge services, business outreach services, and marketing, to help individuals start, grow, and maintain successful small businesses and bring Atlantic City back.

Atlantic City Jitney Electrification

Requested Amount: $1.5 million

Intended Recipient: The Atlantic City Jitney Association

This project will provide funding for a modernized fleet of 190 new electric 13-passenger busses for the New Jersey Jitney system. These vehicles will be manufactured in Glassboro, NJ, and will facilitate an expansion of jitney service to additional shore communities.

Salem County Courthouse Improvements

Requested Amount: $3.75 million

Intended Recipient: Salem County

This project provides funds to assist with the state-mandated expansion and upgrades of the Salem County Courthouse. Upgrades include the expansion of the Courthouse by 98,000 square feet and the installation of security features including alarms, ballistic glass, cameras, lock systems, and screening areas.

Little Egg Harbor Township Recreational Complex Field Improvements

Requested Amount: $1 million

Intended Recipient: Little Egg Harbor Township Administrator

This project provides funds to Little Egg Harbor Township to conduct field rehabilitation improvements at the township recreational complex. This project will improve the health and safety of all Township residents who utilize the soccer and football fields, including the Pinelands Soccer Association, Pinelands Jr. Wildcats Football Club, and various senior organizations. The improvements will aid the youth sports organizations in providing safe, reliable, and equitable programs to ALL youth in the Township, including those youth from any of the three low/moderate income neighborhoods within the Township.

Townsends Inlet to Cape May Inlet Dredging and Beach Restoration

Requested Amount: $15.5 million

Intended Recipient: Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia

This project will dredge Townsends inlet and restore beachfront on Avalon and Stone Harbor beaches. Avalon’s North End was severely eroded by Tropical Storm Isaiah and Winter Storm Orlena. The beach at Stone Harbor is severely eroded and 6 years behind schedule. This project also plays an important role in North Wildwood’s emergency operations to construct a new seawall and cover it with a vegetated dune.

Cape May Simulcast Emergency System

Requested Amount: $2 million

Intended Recipient: Cape May County

This project provides funds to assist with improvements to Cape May County’s emergency communications system.

Lake Lenape Dam Rehabilitation

Requested Amount: $4.6 million

Intended Recipient: Atlantic County

This project provides funds for the rehabilitation of the Lake Lenape Dam. The Lake Lenape Dam is a High Hazard-Class I dam in poor condition and presents a substantial flood threat to Hamilton Township.

Downe Township Sewer Infrastructure

Requested Amount: $5.1 million

Intended Recipient: Downe Township Administrator

The Downe Township Sewer Infrastructure Project is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to provide critical infrastructure to one of the last Delaware Bayshore communities in New Jersey. The communities face several threats, including groundwater contamination owing to existing malfunctioning septic systems. The septic systems are the impetus for the sewer installation: they remain the most critical infrastructure to sustain and protect the natural and human environment in these communities.

Jobs for American Graduates New Jersey

Requested Amount: $270,000

Intended Recipient: New Jersey Chambers of Commerce Foundation
 

The national Jobs for America’s Graduates initiative (JAG) has a 40-year track record of success in working with student populations that are at high risk of not completing their education. JAG NJ targets New Jersey high school students and out-of-school youth who have at least five academic, environmental, physical, psychological or work-related barriers to success, and offers real-world learning experiences that demonstrate how staying in high school and earning a diploma can enhance their lives. JAG NJ is the only state in the 40-state JAG council of state affiliates that receives no state or federal funding to support the program.
